Oppenheimer S*x Scene Retained In India: After much-anticipation, 'Oppenheimer' hit the theatres on July 21, 2023. The movie stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who is known as the "father of the atomic bomb" for his work on the Manhattan Project, which produced the first nuclear weapons during World War II.

'Oppenheimer' S*x Scene Blurred For Indian Audience

While 'Oppenheimer' has become one of the most talked about films of the year, the stellar star cast is also being applauded for its performance, especially Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh’s s*x scene. The moment in question has been masked in the India edit of 'Oppenheimer', despite the fact that much has been spoken and written about the scene before the movie's release.

'Oppenheimer', played by Murphy, and Jean, played by Pugh are first seen meeting at a party, shortly after which they are seen together in bed. The two stars strip for the camera. It is clear from the scene that Pugh's naked back had a blur patch applied to it which didn’t go unnoticed.

Oppenheimer Bhagavad Gita Scene Retained

The contentious Bhagavad Gita scene that immediately preceded the backless scene was kept in the movie. In the scenario, Pugh's persona requests that Robert Oppenheimer read a passage from the book right before they engage in se*ual activity. A few vulgar words were also cut from the movie.

The film is based on the 2005 biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin about J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who helped develop the first nuclear weapons on the Manhattan Project. The movie also highlights the race against time that the Americans faced to complete their bomb before Nazi Germany could finish building theirs.
