Oscars 2025: Kanguva, Suriya's anticipated blockbuster entertainer, got a mediocre reception at the box office, with multiple complaints about the loud soundtrack and the actors' lack of screen time. In an unexpected development, nevertheless, the Tamil movie has now made it to the contenders' list of Oscar 2025.
Kanguva, a high-budget epic fantasy adventure directed by Siruthai Siva, marked Suriya's big-screen comeback after a two-year break. Film industry tracker Manobala Vijayabalan shared the exciting news on X (formerly Twitter). His tweet read, "BREAKING: Kanguva ENTERS oscars 2025," alongside the contender's list and actor Suriya's poster.

Suriya fans went crazy and showed their excitement and happiness at the movie's historic success. Many also expressed shock regarding the same, considering the movie's underwhelming response at the theatre.

When And Where To Watch Kanguva After Poor Box Office Response?
Kanguva, which debuted on November 14 2024, had a huge effect at the box office. With a final box office receipt of barely Rs. 96 crores, the movie fell short of the Rs. 100 crore milestone and also fell short of expectations. This was disheartening, particularly in light of Kanguva's enormous 350 crore budget.
The fantasy action drama Kanguva, which also featured Bobby Deol in a pivotal role, was made available on Amazon Prime Video on December 8, 2024. Within weeks of its November 14 theatrical debut, the Tamil movie made its OTT debut.
