OTT Movies And Web Series Releases This Week (August 26 to Septe 1): Streaming platforms have transformed the experience of watching movies and shows as the audience can now watch the content of their choice anytime. 1. Only Murders In The Building 4
'Only Murders In The Building' focuses on three friends, who start a true crime podcast and start investigating a succession of suspicious murders in their building. The series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez in the lead roles. Its fourth season will release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 27.
2. Godzilla x Kong The New Empire
'Godzilla x Kong The New Empire' focuses on the face-off between Godzilla and Kong as they cause a threat to the existence of humankind. The movie will release on JioCinema on August 29. It stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen.
3. IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack
'IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack' will tell the true gripping story of India's longest hijacking which took place in 1999. Directed by Anubhav Singha, the series stars Vijay Varma, Patralekhaa, Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah, Arvind Swami, Dia Mirza, Amrita Puri, Anupam Tripathi, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa in the lead roles.
4. Terminator Zero
'Terminator Zero' is an animated series from the world of film franchise 'Terminator' created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd. The show will have eight episodes and is based on the film franchise and will take place in both 2022 and 1997. 'Terminator Zero' will release on Netflix on August 29.
5. The Rings Of Power 2
'The Rings Of Power' is based on the novel The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien and is set in thousands of years before Tolkien's The Hobbit and 'The Lord of the Rings' in the Second Age of Middle-earth. Its second season will release on Prime Video on August 29.
6. Buddy
'Buddy' focuses on Pallavi, who is an Air Traffic Control officer and gets into an accident. Pallavi's soul enters a teddy bear and reaches pilot Aditya Ram's home. Later, Aditya and the teddy bear team up to save Pallavi. The movie stars Allu Sirish in the lead role. 'Buddy' will release on Netflix on August 30, 2024, in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
7. Murshid
'Murshid' focuses on ex-don, who is forced out of exile when his former accomplice turned rival, Farid, traps his son in a gang war. The movie stars Kay Kay Menon, Tanuj Virwani and Zakir Hussain in the lead roles. It will release on Zee5 on August 30.
