New OTT Releases This Week: The popularity and demand of OTT platforms have witnessed a significant rise over the years as audiences can now watch their favourite content at any time and anywhere. Streaming companies like Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, JioCinema, Zee5, Prime Video and others have also raised the expectations of viewers by releasing new projects every week in different genres and languages from around the world. If you are looking forward to watching movies and web series online, then take a look at the list of new projects releasing on OTT this week.

1. Heeramandi

'Heeramandi' revolves around courtesans in the British-ruled India, who are ruled by Mallikajaan but her power is threatened after a rival comes into the picture. Created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal in the lead roles. It will release on Netflix on May 1. 

2. BTS Kdrama Begins Youth

'Begins Youth' will focus on the fictionalised version of the seven BTS members. The show will begin with Kim Hwan meeting the other six boys and how everyone bonds together despite their struggles. The Kdrama will release on Xclusive on April 30, 2024. 

3. The Idea Of You

'The Idea Of You' revolves around a 40-year-old single mother, who falls in love with a 24-year-old popular boy band singer. The movie is based on the novel of the same name written by Robinne Lee. Starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine in the lead roles, the movie will release on Prime Video on May 2, 2024.

4. Shaitaan

'Shaitaan' revolves around a happy family, whose lives turn upside down after a stranger enters their house. The movie stars Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj in the lead roles. The movie will reportedly release on Netflix on May 3.

5. Wonka

'Wonka' revolves around a young chocolatier Willy Wonka, who manages to change the world with one delectable bite at a time. The movie stars Timothée Chalamet in the titular role with Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant in pivotal roles. The movie will release on JioCinema on May 3, 2024. 

6. Manjummel Boys

'Manjummel Boys' revolves around a group of friends, who face several unexpected misadventures on a vacation trip to Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. The movie stars Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar, Shebin Benson, and Vishnu Reghu. It is based on a real-life incident that took place in 2006. The movie will release on Disney+ Hotstar on May 5.

7. Black Mafia Family S3

'Black Mafia Family' is set in the 90s and revolves around Meech and Terry, who face new challenges and adventures in the world of drug cartels. The series stars Demetrius Flenory Jr and Da'Vinchi in the lead roles. It will release on May 3.
