Coolie On Prime Video: Coolie generated massive buzz prior to its theatrical release as it marked the first-ever collaboration between Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The Tamil movie is an action thriller film which is not under LCU. It revolves around a mansion owner named Deva who gets to know of his friend’s death and begins to probe into the actual reason behind it. In the process, he comes across a dangerous crime syndicate run by Simon. The movie also stars Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Sathyaraj. 

When And Where To Watch Coolie?

Coolie received mixed reviews from viewers when it was released on August 14, 2025, together with Hrithik Roshan—Jr. NTR's War 2. Now that the movie has been in theaters for 25 days, it is available on Amazon Prime Video. Four South Indian languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—are available for streaming.

The Hindi version will launch following the 8-week theatrical to OTT window, however it is not yet available. Apart from that, it's unclear how the movie will be received by OTT viewers.

Was Coolie A HIT Or Flop?

Many individuals expressed dissatisfaction that Coolie was not released later as a time travel film or as a part of his cinematic world, according to Lokesh Kanagaraj. He continued by saying that he can only write what he can and hopes that the audience would find it enjoyable, and that he would never produce movies because of the "high expectations" that people have of him.

"Coolie, I never mentioned time travel or LCU. But these things were discussed and speculated even before I released the film’s trailer. 18 months before the film’s release, they kept asking how long I would hide these details. How can I stop that? I can’t," said the filmmaker.

With much anticipation, Lokesh Kanagaraj's film Coolie was released on August 14 and debuted to record-breaking sales. Even though the movie's box office performance has slowed down in week three on weekdays, it still manages to hold viewers' attention as it approaches the Rs 300 crore milestone. Coolie, which had one of the year's largest debuts, has experienced the typical trend of busy weekends followed by slower weekdays. The Tamil film did well enough in terms of box office receipts to maintain the lead till its ultimate OTT release.

Coolie Plot Details

Coolie follows six friends as they gather for what seems to be a laid-back supper. Their long-lasting relationships are in danger because they each have dark secrets and hidden agendas.  As tensions increase and details are disclosed, the movie becomes an engrossing tale of betrayal, tension, and psychological intrigue that keeps viewers on edge as friendships teeter on the edge of breaking down.
