Coolie Box Office Collection:Rajinikanth's Coolie was released with incredibly high expectations, and while it lived up to them on the first day, it didn't do well after that. The film, which was made on a massive budget, had the potential to become the most grossing Kollywood film ever in India and the world, but it is far from doing so. After being released on August 14th, the film's third-week trend showed a noticeable decline.
Coolie made Rs 1 crore India net in all languages on day 21. The number is indicative of the third-week weekday decline, but the movie was still able to draw crowds to the theaters. Overall, the movie had 12.68% Tamil, 9.18% Hindi, and 13.31 Telugu occupancy on Wednesday, September 3.
Coolie made Rs 2.8 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.1 crore on Sunday. However, the pattern reversed once the weekdays arrived. Earnings dropped precipitously on Monday to Rs 1.10 crore, and on Tuesday they reached Rs 1.3 crore.

Superstar Rajinikanth has dominated Tamil Nadu, his native state for many years. The actor's last movie Jailer demonstrated that he would remain a crowd-pleaser with a smashing Rs 190 crore net in the state. Since this was the first time the superstar and Lokesh Kanagaraj had worked together, there were high anticipation Rajinkanth's most recent action thriller following Jailer's enormous success.
Why Did Coolie Fail To Live Up To Its Hype?
While many Rajinikanth fans embraced the bulky action star, others thought Coolie lacked nuance. In response to these responses, director Lokesh Kanagaraj said at a conclave that he never brought up time travel or LCU. "In Coolie, I never mentioned time travel or LCU. But these things were discussed and speculated even before I released the film's trailer. 18 months before the films release, they kept asking how long I would hide these details. How can I stop that? I can't," he shared.
Lokesh Kanagaraj continued by saying that he cannot make stories based solely on what the audience wants to see. "I can never write stories on based on higher expectations. I write a story...if it meeets their expectations, I'm good. If it doesn't, I will try - that's it." The filmmaker acknowledged that he was now 'struggling' with the universe he had already founded and stated that his present concentration was on the LCU rather than creating any additional realities.

What Was The Budget Of Coolie?
Coolie witnessed a huge opening because of the crazy excitement surrounding Rajinikanth and Lokesh's first-ever collaboration. However, it did not show an upward trend over the weekend because of the mixed reviews and mediocre word-of-mouth. The Tamil movie must make 350 crore net to break into the safe zone because it was reportedly made on a Rs 350 crore budget.
