The film faced obstacles during its time of release. Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) objected to the usage of the name Janki for a rape survivor and cited its association with goddess Sita. They shared concerns over offending religious sentiment. The film body refused to clear the film, recommending multiple cuts. The producer then agreed to mute the name of Janaki in two scenes to overcome obstacles.
JSK Janaki V Vs State of Kerala earned Rs 5.5 crore in India after 19 days of release. After many obstacles, the film is now all slated for release on OTT.

The plot revolves around the life of a sexual assault survivor, who is in pursuit of justice through the legal system. She hires a lawyer, who fights for justice for her. The movie stars Suresh Gopi, Madhav Suresh, Shruti Ramachandran, Divya Pillai, Askar Ali, Baiju Santhosh, Kottayam Ramesh and Shoby Thilaka in pivotal roles. It has been directed by Pravin Narayanan and produced by J. Phanindra Kumar under Cosmos Entertainments, with Sethuraman Nair Kankol as co-producer.
The movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 34 minutes. Renadive has done the cinematography of the film. The background score was composed by Ghibran. The shooting of the film commenced in November 2022 and wrapped up its shooting in November 2023.
