Latest Tamil OTT Releases In July 2025: If you are a fan of South Indian cinema with genres like action, family drama and romantic comedy, then streaming platforms have something exciting for you in store. From the much-anticipated Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan to Maaman, a hit movie which stars Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi in lead roles, there are many movies and web series to look forward to. There's something for every viewer on platforms like Prime Video, Netflix, Sun NXT, ZEE5 and others. If you missed watching films on big screens, just sit back on your home sofa and choose the movie or series you have been waiting to stream on OTT. Here's a curated list of Tamil OTT releases in July 2025 that are worth watching.

Thug Life

Streaming Platform: Netflix

Mani Ratnam's latest directorial venture, featuring Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, and Silambarasan TR, is a gripping gangster saga that failed to captivate audiences during its theatrical release on June 5, 2025. The movie received a mixed response but still managed to build anticipation for its digital premiere. The story revolves around an ageing gang leader, Sakthivel, who adopts Amaran during a gang war. However, years later, things change for Sakthivel when he survives an assassination attempt and begins to suspect Amaran's involvement, sparking a conflict of loyalty and revenge. The movie is streaming on Netflix from July 3. Apart from Tamil, viewers can also watch it in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Paramasivan Fathima

Streaming Platform: Aha Tamil

The Tamil horror movie starring Vimal, Chaya Devi and M S Bhaskar and directed by Esakki Karvannan, made its theatrical debut on June 6. The story revolves around two feuding remote villages, one Hindu and one Christian, that face a series of mysterious murders, prompting a police investigation. The movie unfolds with the revelation of spirits seeking justice for past religious conflicts. Paramasivan Fathima is streaming on Aha Tamil.

Kaliyugam

Streaming Platform: Sun NXT

There is a special kind of craze for horror, crime thrillers, and science fiction, right? Movies like Kalki 2898 AD were well received, and Tamil cinema recently came up with sci-fi Kaliyugam, which is now getting ready for its digital debut. Released in theatres on May 9, the movie starring Shraddha Srinath and Kishore in the lead roles, is set in a post-apocalyptic world in 2064. The movie explores themes of survival and the psychological impact of being deprived of food, water and humanity. Kaliyugam will be available for streaming on OTT giant Sun NXT starting July 11.

Madras Matinee

Streaming Platform: SUN NXT

Released in cinemas on June 6, he film didn't perform well at the box office. To reach a wider audience, the makers released it on the OTT platform SUN NXT, where it has been streaming since July 4. The movie tells the story of an ordinary man and his struggles without idealising them through a sci-fi writer, Jyoti Ramayya. Encouraged by his caretaker to explore the real-life stories instead of fantasy. He chooses Kannan, a humble auto driver, as the subject of his next story. Madras Matinee explores Kannan's life, which surprises the writer with its intricate layers of truth that define his existence. The film stars Kaali Venkat, Roshini Haripriya, Shelly Kishore, Sathyaraj, Vishva, George Maryan, Sunil Sukhada and others.

The Good Wife

The much-awaited web series The Good Wife is directed by Revathy and stars Priyamani in the lead role alongside Sampath Raj. This Tamil adaptation of the American series with the same name brings a blend of legal drama and personal chaos. The series premiered on JioHotstar on July 4, 2025.
