South OTT Releases This Week: South Indian cinema has been producing some content because of its intriguing and thought-provoking themes and narratives. This week, several excellent Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada movies and web series are available on OTT platforms. Check out this week's lineup coming to OTT, which includes Suriya's Tamil feature Retro and Mohanlal's Malayalam flick Thudarum and much more. Watch smash hits like Agnyathavasi and Jerry, which will be available for streaming on digital platforms like ZEE5 and SimplySouth.
Here is a list of the South OTT movies and web series that are planned for May 26 to June 1, ranging from Thudarum featuring Mohanlal in the lead to Suriya's Retro, Nani starrer HIT 3 and much more:
Thudarum
Where to watch: JioHotstar
Mohanlal and Sobhana starred in Tharun Moorthy's Thudarum, which became the first Malayalam movie to earn Rs 100 crore in its home state. The movie is now prepared for over-the-top (OTT) streaming. Following a successful box office run, the Malayalam movie will be made available online on May 30. Thudarum narrates the tale of Shanmugham 'Benz,' a poor taxi driver who leads a peaceful life until his cherished vehicle disappears. To safeguard everything he holds dear, he must summon an invisible side. The film had a positive opening reception and has been likened to Mohanlal's 2013 blockbuster Drishyam.
Retro

The story of Paarivel Paari Kannan, an orphan raised by a mobster, is told in Retro, which was directed by Karthik Subbaraj, who also worked with Suriya for the first time. When Paari tries to get back in touch with Rukmini, the lady he loves and left behind, he encounters treachery, a perverse religious organisation, and a prophecy that could permanently change his life as he searches for the truth about his mysterious past. Retro received a mixed reception from both the audience and reviewers when it debuted in theatres on May 1.
HIT 3

The third entry in the well-liked HIT series, HIT: The Third Case, was directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who is commended for his compelling narrative. Arjun Sarkaar, an officer assigned to HIT Visakhapatnam, is the protagonist of the story. He is caught up in a violent murder investigation. The movie takes a dark turn when Arjun, a prisoner, tells a fellow prisoner about what happened in the past, revealing a more extensive undercover operation that targets a criminal network that resembles a cult.
Agnyathavasi

Agnyathavasi, which is set in the foggy forests of Malnad in the 1990s, tells the tale of a peaceful community that has not been touched by modernity. After years of inactivity, the local police station comes alive when scholar Srinivas Iyer is discovered dead. At first, things seems normal, but as suspicion grows, Inspector Govindu files an unusual case. With the assistance of his colleague Ananthu, he starts an investigation.
A young guy named Rohit brings the village's first computer as they look for answers. He sends an email to Iyer's estranged son, Arun. Even though Arun seldom comes in person, his online persona evokes strong feelings, particularly in Pankaja.
A mystery element known as Pashambara, a concept associated with death and silence, is gradually revealed throughout the story. The research is conducted through letters, rituals, and recollections of the past. Finding a murderer becomes less important than discovering what has long been concealed in the quiet of the community.
Jerry

The Malayalam film, which draws heavily from the classic Tom and Jerry cartoon series, is about a mouse of the same name that causes chaos in a human family and spreads across the countryside. The movie focuses on how the mouse causes problems in the lives of the people, with some amusing interactions and unexpected situations.
What begins as an intractable problem for a household, however, gradually spreads to the entire hamlet, which looks for inventive ways to catch and eliminate the mouse. In the meantime, the family members also begin to connect and get along without any conflicts, which throws a wrench in the family equations.
