Squid Game Season 3 Episode 2: Squid Game Season 3 stars Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Wi Ha Jun, Park Gyu Young, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Sim, Jo Yu Ri, Chae Kuk Hee, Lee David, Roh Jae Won, and Jun Suk Ho. The Netflix show's episode 2 has a disputed scene about birthing that has drawn criticism. Many spectators were taken aback by the scene in which contestant Kim Jun Hee gave birth in the middle of the competition. She unexpectedly goes into labour during a life-or-death mission, and with the assistance of fellow competitor Geum Ja, she gives birth.

Squid Game Season 3 episode two's birthing scene swiftly went viral, with one tweet ridiculing the impossibility of the situation and receiving over 7 million views. What irked many was how the entire process wound up in less than five minutes, and there were no indications of pain, medical intervention, or postpartum difficulties. Social media users have largely blamed the show's male director for the criticism, claiming that he doesn't understand the fundamentals of birthing. Additionally, viewers observed the lack of amniotic fluid, placenta delivery, and the infant's irrational fortitude in the face of scant treatment.

One of the users wrote, "The introduction of the baby in Season 3 of the Squid Game turned the show into one of the most horrifying commentaries on humanity on greed that I've ever seen...I don't think I've ever felt so physically uncomfortable by a show as I have during these last 3 episodes."

Another user wrote, "Player 222 gave birth to her first child in less than 10 min, when actually first labour lasts maaaaaany hours (sic)."

A third user wrote, "So no one’s gonna talk about how she gave birth in 5 minutes  #SquidGame3."

Squid Game fans felt this scenario fell short of being realistic, even though the show is known for its social satire. The popular drama debuted on Netflix worldwide on June 27, 2025.
