According to the official synopsis, the movie centers on a group of anti-heroes who get entangled in a dangerous operation that is planned by Julia Louis-Dreyfus's character Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. In order to escape a lethal trap and ascertain if salvation or disaster awaits them, the crew must traverse perilous personal histories.

Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Lewis Pullman as the formidable and capricious Sentry are all part of Thunderbolts' ensemble cast.
