Pakistani Actor Adnan Siddiqui made a sarcastic remark about the recently released action film 'Fighter,' starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, which had previously been criticised as anti-Pakistan by several Pakistani celebrities. The movie, directed by Siddharth Anand, earned over Rs 250 crore globally in its opening week. Also, the movie is anticipated to surpass the Rs 150-crore net mark domestically, soon. Amid this, Adnan expressed his disappointment.

He criticised the film, stating, "A lesson to heed for Fighter team after your flop show: Do not insult your audience’s intelligence. They can discern agendas. Let entertainment be free from unnecessary politics."

'Fighter,' tells the story set against the backdrop of the Indian Air Force's airstrike on Pakistan in response to a terrorist attack. Following the recent trailer release, a number of Pakistani actors, including Hania Aamir and Adnan Siddiqui, criticised the film's director, Siddharth Anand.

Adnan said that it was 'disheartening' to see Bollywood portray Pakistanis as villains. "Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now crafts hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains. Despite our love for your films, it's disheartening. Art transcends boundaries; let's use it to promote love and peace. Two nations, victims of politics, deserve better," he had stated.

Without explicitly mentioning the film, Pakistani actress Hania Amir expressed her disappointment, stating, "So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium. Distasteful; let art breathe." Hania's comment quickly gained traction, and numerous social media users promptly pointed out what they perceived as a double standard in her stance. Many highlighted her participation in the film 'Parwaaz Hai Junoon' (2018), where the storyline allegedly depicted the Pakistan Air Force in conflict against India.
