Parasakthi X Review: Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited Tamil film Parasakthi has finally hit theatres, and early reactions on social media show a clear divide among audiences. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film was released on January 10, 2026 after facing delays due to certification issues. Following clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the film received a UA certificate and opened as scheduled.

As fans rushed to early morning shows, many took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts. Several viewers praised the interval block, calling it emotionally powerful, while others found the film slow-paced. One viewer wrote, “#Parasakthi – Terrific first half. The interval scenes give absolute goosebumps! #Atharva and #Sivakarthikeyan’s brotherly bonding is deeply soulful. #Sreeleela is a blast with her stunning screen presence. #RaviMohan and #Sivakarthikeyan deliver fantabulous performances.” However, not everyone was impressed. Addressing the film’s controversial elements, a user commented, “1st hour is a real patience tester... Emotional interval block. Too many controversial topics discussed. Not a theater material (sic).” The second half received more criticism, with many viewers calling it lengthy and predictable. Some felt the romantic portions slowed down the narrative. One user shared, “#Parasakthi 1st half starts off very slowly and takes time to get into the story. The love portions of #SK & #Sreeleela literally tested patience. The interval was neat.”

Set in 1960s Madras, Parasakthi revolves around student movements and agitations against Hindi imposition, with events unfolding in Pollachi. The film blends political themes with emotional drama, placing strong emphasis on social issues of the time. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Sreeleela in key roles. The supporting cast includes Daali Dhananjaya, Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, Papri Ghosh, and Rana Daggubati. Music for the film has been composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
