Parineeti Chopra, who is garnering all the attention for her latest stint in Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila co-starring Diljit Dosanjh, has made some shocking revelations from the early days of her career. Many might not be aware of the fact that Parineeti was an intern at Yash Raj Films’ marketing and PR department before making her acting debut with the same production house. Not only that, she also promoted actors like Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, and Rani Mukherji during her internship tenure, which lasted for one and a half years.
During a podcast with Raj Shamani, Parineeti said, “I did promotions for Rani for Dil Bole Hadippa, Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh for Lafangey Parindey, and Anushka and Shahid Kapoor for their film Badmaash Company. I would line up interviews for these actors and order coffees for them. My final film as an intern at the studio was Band Baaja Baarat.”
The Chamkila actress also revealed how she landed an acting career, she said “A few days later, after I left the job, I got a call from Adi (Aditya Chopra) and I wondered why he was calling. He sat me down and told me that he wanted to sign a three-film deal at Yash Raj. I kept wondering what was happening.”
“When he saw the video, he felt I could be an actor and so something in this industry and he just signed me for a three-film deal. I was on Ladies vs Ricky Bahl a month later,” she added.
Notably, Parineeti Chopra had a long collaboration with Yash Raj Films as the leading actress. She debuted as a supporting actress with Ladies vs Ricky Bahl starring Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in the leads. Some of the films include Daawat-e-Ishq alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar with Arjun Kapoor. She was also the leading actress in movies like Kill Dil, and Meri Pyaari Bindu alongside Ayushmann Khurrana.
