Chiyaan Vikram will soon return to the big screen with the movie 'Thangalaan', which has created a lot of excitement among the audience. The movie is set in British rule in India and focuses on a tribal leader, who goes against the British after they take his land for gold mining. Parvathy Thiruvothu will be seen in a pivotal role in 'Thangalaan' and her first look from the movie was unveiled on her birthday.

The official X page of Studio Green shared the character poster of Parvathy Thiruvothu as Gangamma and wrote in the caption, "An embodiment of strength, grace, and resilience. Wishing our versatile #Gangamma, @parvatweets a dazzling birthday."

Apart from Parvathy, the movie also stars Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone and Harikrishnan Anbudurai.

On the work front, Parvathy Thiruvothu was last seen in the Hindi movie 'Kadak Singh'.

In an interview with OTTplay, the actress talked about how her approach to selecting films has evolved. She said, "My only rule is the purity of intentions. There is nothing more than that. Anybody can have any intention for the project they have to make, I will not question it. I will only see if I can align with that intention. Here I completely aligned with Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's intention, plus I was also very excited to work with him."

She talked about playing the role of a Malayali nurse and revealed if her character is stereotypical. She said, "You can go to any hospital, you will meet at least meet one Malayali nurse. Is it a stereotype or a reality? It might be stereotypical if such a character is included in narration for the sake of tokenism. Just let's bring a South Indian character into the mix so that we can claim diversity."

Parvathy will next star in the Malayalam movies 'Ullozhukku' and 'Her'.
