New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Actor Pearl V Puri who was under judicial custody for 14 days for being accused of raping a 5-yr-old minor has finally been granted bail. Yes, the Vasai Court Sessions Judge Aditi Kadam on Tuesday granted bail of Rs 25,000 to the small screen actor. 

He was arrested after the alleged victim's family filed a complaint against him in Police. Later the Waliv Police had arrested Puri on June 4, following which he was remanded to 14 days' judicial custody, creating a sensation in the entertainment industry.

Talking about his bail, Pearl's lawyer Chetan Patil said that the copy of the order is still awaited, and his client is likely to walk out of the Thane Jail on Tuesday evening. 

On the other hand, the complainant's lawyer said that the police didn't get any opportunity to investigate the case. He also added that they would challenge the order in the Bombay High Court.

As per the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) of Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar (MBVV), Sanjaykumar Patil, the alleged crime by Pearl V Puri took place when the minor girl was present at the shooting location in the Naigaon area near Vasai in October 2019.

Later the child happened to identify Pearl through a TV show where he was playing a prominent role. Thereafter her statement was recorded by police. 

Meanwhile, when Pearl was put behind the bars, a lot of his colleagues and other TV celebs came in support of the actor on social media.

Infact producer and actor Divya Khosla Kumar who worked with him in the music video 'Teri Aankhon Mein' said that he is being dragged into the false thing due to the alleged victim's parents' marital conflict.

On the other hand, Ekta Kapoor's audio tape was leaked where she can be heard having a conversation with the alleged victim's mother. In the audio clip, the mother of the alleged victim can be heard saying that she knows Pearl is innocent.
