About Phule Movie
The biographical drama movie is based on the lives of social reformers Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. The plot focuses on how the social reformers brought revolutionary change to the education system and equality in the caste system. Phule received major backlash after the trailer was released, as it showed how the social reformers tried to end the caste system while they opposed the upper caste system. After this, social media users debated and objected to some scenes, and a few even called the film ‘anti-brahmin’. Following this, the boycott Phule started trending on social media. The controversy might have deeply affected the box office of the film. It stars Patralekhaa, Pratik Gandhi, Darsheel Safary, Vinay Pathak and Alexx O'Nell in significant roles. Phule has been helmed by Anant Mahadevan and backed by Pranay Chokshi, Ritesh Kudecha, Anuya Chauhan Kudecha, Sunil Jain, Raj Kishore Khaware, Jagdish Patel.
