Poonam Pandey is alive! The news of actress' death caused a sensation on social media, with many celebrities expressing condolences. However, it turned out to be a publicity stunt. She released a video statement on Saturday morning to confirm that she is not dead. In the video, Poonam explained that the purpose behind the false news of her death was to raise awareness about cervical cancer. However, she was brutally criticised and trolled for the same.
Poonam took to her Instagram and posted a video confirming that she is not dead. The actress said, "I am alive. I did not die because of cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about those hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives because of cervical cancer. It is not because they couldn’t do anything about it but because they had no idea what to do about it. I am here to tell you that, unlike other cancers, cervical cancer is preventable. All you have to do is, you have to get your tests done and you have to get HPV vaccine."

Following this, many chimed in her comment section and trolled her for this publicity stunt. A user wrote, "This was the most ridiculous way to promote something..." Another added, "Next time people won't take you seriously, you just destroyed your entire credibility." A third comment read, "Worst PR Stunt, you could have done a better way, than highlighting such a sensitive topic for so many cancer patients. Highly not appreciated." A comment said, "Exploiting a serious issue like cervical cancer for cheap publicity is absolutely disgraceful. Using your platform to spread awareness is commendable, but faking your own death is a new low. Respect for real survivors and victims matters more than attention-seeking stunts. #Disappointed." A user also said, "Moye Moye ho Gaya ye toh."
