Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer 'Kalki 2898 AD Part 1' was recently launched at the San Diego Comic-Con amidst tons of fanfare and buzz. The teaser of the film garnered around 20 million views so far and is one of the most-anticipated films of 2024.
Tentatively titled 'Project K', the release date of the film was announced to be January 12, 2024, by the makers. Now, according to a report in India Today, the makers of the film might push the release date to May 9, 2024.
The producer of the film Ashwini Dutt preferred May 9, as the date is keenly special to him with past blockbuster hits including 'Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari' and 'Mahanati' all released on May 9.
Apart from this, there is also a ton of work left on the project, as the film involves a lot of VFX and given the first look of Prabhas from the film, the film got trolled on the internet with the filmmakers wanting to review the details and give the best to their audience.
The film is directed by Nag Ashwin and is created on a whopping budget of Rs 600 cr. 'Kalki 2898 AD Part 1' will be released in two installments. The producer of the film Ashwini Dutt said, "It's still an Indian film at heart, it's Indian mythology, our culture, from being a south Indian, from being Telugu, from being Indian, from being a fan of Star Wars, all of that love comes into this one thing. It's a new kind of thing."

However, director SS Rajamouli pulled the leg of the filmmakers of 'Kalki 2898 AD Part 1' and also congratulated the team for the teaser announcement by asking them for the release date of the film earlier.
'Kalki 2898 AD Part 1' also features Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani in pivotal roles, and marks the maiden collaboration between Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
