Prabhu Deva Becomes Father At 50; Know About His First Wife And Alleged Extramarital Affair With Nayanthara

JE Entertainment Desk: Prabhu Deva has become a father at the age of 50. The acclaimed director, actor, and choreographer welcomed a baby girl with his second wife Dr Himani. For the unversed, this is Prabhu's fourth child. He has sons from his previous marriage with Ramlath.

Prabhu Deva confirmed the news by himself after speaking to the Times of India. The choreographer said, "Yes! It is true. I am a father again at this age (50). I feel very happy and complete." He further noted, "I have already cut down on my workload. I felt I was doing too much work, just running around… I am done with that. I want to spend some time with my family."

Prabhu Deva's First Wife And Controversies Surrounding Nayanthara

Prabhu Deva married Ramlath, who later changed her name to Latha. They had three children, but the oldest, a 13-year-old boy, passed away from cancer in 2008. Ramlath petitioned the family court in 2010 to get Deva out of a live-in relationship with the actress Nayanthara.

Furthermore, Ramlath threatened to go on a hunger strike if Prabhu Deva married Nayanthara. As a form of protest, some women's associations burned an effigy of Nayanthara to denounce her for defaming Tamil culture. In 2011, Ramlath and Deva got divorced. Nayanthara announced in 2012 that she had broken up with Prabhu Deva.

In 2020, Prabhu Deva got married to Dr Himani, a Mumbai-based physiotherapist. Their wedding took place nine years after Prabhu and his first wife Ramlatha got a divorce.
