Prateik Babbar recently reacted to an emotional video of late actor Irrfan Khan’s son, Babil Khan, which went viral on social media. The actor came in support of the emerging young star. For the unversed, Babil was crying in a video and called the Bollywood industry ‘so f***** and rude’. In his video, he mentioned several names, including Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal and Adarsh Gourav while trying to convey his feelings about detachment. The video was later deleted and Babil issued a statement clarifying all the misunderstandings caused by it. Babbar recently shared that being the son of Irrfan Khan is not easy to deal with.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Prateik Babbar said, “Being Mr Irrfan Khan’s son is not easy to deal with. Irrfan Khan passed away at a very crucial age in his life. He was a teen. I related to it, and I have been having debates about it with a few of my friends. I said, look, whatever it is, if he is harming himself, then it’s wrong, but you have to put it in perspective. You have to understand what that boy has been through. I understand it more than anybody else.”
“He lived a life with his father, and his father made it beyond anybody in this industry could make it. My heart goes out to him. I was crying for him yesterday. I was like I know what you are feeling. It’s not easy. I was a child to a legend who never existed for me. They were both legends. You have to take it with a pinch of salt. It comes with the territory. It comes with the profession, especially if you are born to famous parents. It is not easy, definitely. I feel for Babil. I wish him only well. I wish him all the love and healing. I know his father is looking out for him. His father is his guardian angel.”
In the now-deleted video, Babil said “Bollywood is so f***ed, Bollywood is so, so rude. What I mean to say is that I just want you guys to know that there are people like Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav and Arijit Singh. There are so many more names. Bollywood is so f*****. Bollywood is so screwed.”

“Bollywood is the most fakest, fakest, fakest industry that I’ve ever ever been a part of. But there are few people that want Bollywood to be better…I got to show to you so much more, so much more, so much more. I have so much more to give you.” After deleting the video, Babil’s team issued a statement saying that it was misinterpreted.
The official statement read, “Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days — and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon. That said, a video of Babil has been widely misinterpreted and taken out of context.”
“In the clip, Babil was sincerely acknowledging a few of his peers whom he believes are making meaningful contributions to the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. His mention of artists like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and Arijit Singh came from a place of genuine admiration — for their authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry. We respectfully urge media publications and the public to consider the full context of his words rather than drawing conclusions from fragmented video clips. Team Babil Khan,” the statement read.
