Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently gearing up for the much-awaited sequel to the hit movie Lucifer, titled L2: Empuraan. He dons many hats as both an actor and a director. He made his directorial debut with Lucifer, starring Mohanlal, which was released in 2019. He then followed it up with Bro Daddy again Mohanlal in the lead role. Prithviraj has worked in several films across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Recently, the actor revealed his desire to direct two of Indian cinema's superstars Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan.
Prithviraj in a conversation with Galata India, shared that he pitched an idea to producer Subaskaran Allirajah for a film with Rajinikanth, revealing that the idea was originally meant for Shah Rukh Khan.
Prithviraj said, “I was in London, and I met Subaskaran sir. We were having lunch. I pitched him an idea that I wanted to do with Rajini sir, which is an adaptation of an idea that I developed when someone else reached out to me to direct a Hindi film that I wanted to pitch to Shah Rukh."

He further revealed, “Subaskaran sir was really excited about the idea.” The actor continued that he couldn’t develop the story any further because of his pending works, with the second schedule of Aadujeevitham taking place at that time.
For those who may not know, Subaskaran has produced several films, including Vidaamuyarchi, Ponniyin Selvan, and Indian 2 under his banner Lyca Productions.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj will reprise his role as Zayed Masood in L2: Empuraan, which he is directing himself, with Mohanlal in the lead. Along with them, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh,and many others will play pivotal roles. The much-awaited sequel to Lucifer is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2025, in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film will be produced under the banner of Lyca Productions. Apart from this, Prithviraj also has Salaar: Part 2, Sarzameen, and other projects in the pipeline.
