Priyanka Chopra, a global icon with an impressive career in both Bollywood and Hollywood, has always captivated audiences with her performances in films like Mary Kom, Aitraaz and more. However, her journey in the industry includes some fascinating stories, one of which involves how she landed the role in Krrish.

In an old interview, Priyanka revealed an interesting anecdote about how she was cast in the Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish (2006). Speaking on Anupam Kher’s talk show, she shared that it was during a rather sombre occasion—a funeral—where director Rakesh Roshan first noticed her. She recalled, “Rakesh sir saw me at a funeral, and he called me. He said, ‘I saw you at a funeral, you’re very pretty’. I said, ‘Excuse me?’ I was wearing a white salwar kurta, no makeup.” Despite the unconventional setting, Rakesh Roshan was intrigued by her natural beauty and wanted to see her rushes from Aitraaz before offering her the role in Krrish.

Krrish was the second instalment in Rakesh Roshan’s successful superhero franchise, following Koi... Mil Gaya. The film, which featured Priyanka Chopra alongside Hrithik Roshan, was a major hit and helped cement her place as a leading actress in the industry.

As for the much-anticipated Krrish 4, there have been ongoing discussions and reports about the fourth instalment of the franchise.

According to sources cited by the Hindustan Times, Hrithik Roshan has finalized the script, which has been meticulously crafted by Rakesh Roshan. Hrithik has also made some changes to ensure the story resonates with the audience, given the gap since the last film. The production for Krrish 4 is expected to begin in the first half of next year, with shooting scheduled to start in February or March 2025.

While Priyanka Chopra has been focusing more on international projects lately, she remains a beloved figure in Bollywood. Her upcoming Hindi film Jee Le Zaraa, directed by Farhan Akhtar and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, has fans eagerly waiting. The film is reportedly centred around a girls' trip, but shooting is yet to commence.

On the global front, Priyanka has wrapped up her work on The Bluff, a swashbuckler film directed by Frank E. Flowers. Set in the Caribbean Islands during the 19th century, the movie features Priyanka as a former pirate who must protect her family when her past catches up with her. The film, shot in Australia, also stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green and Vedanten Naidoo.
