Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan are gearing up for their first collaboration in the highly anticipated series Citadel: Honey Bunny, set to premiere on Prime Video India on November 7, 2024. Following the release of its teaser, excitement among fans has soared, with Priyanka Chopra adding to the buzz by hinting at intriguing connections between this Indian version and her own Hollywood series, Citadel.

Priyanka, who starred in the American adaptation alongside Richard Madden, took to her Instagram Stories to commend Varun and Samantha. She expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Raj and DK in full form,” and praised the duo as “incredible.” Furthermore, she teased viewers to keep an eye out for special hints throughout Honey Bunny, suggesting that there are “bread crumbs all over Citadel” that link back to her character, Nadia.

The teaser revealed at a grand event in Mumbai on August 1, showcases the lead actors as spies in a vibrant 1990s setting. The poster features Samantha and Varun brandishing a massive gun, setting the tone for a thrilling ride filled with action and a touch of romance. The nostalgic soundtrack, featuring Raat Baaki Baat Baaki, adds an extra layer of excitement, culminating in a dramatic moment where Samantha aims a gun at Varun, leaving viewers eager for more.

Directed by Raj & DK, Citadel: Honey Bunny also boasts a talented supporting cast, including Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar and Kashvi Majmundar.

The original Citadel, which premiered in 2023, became a significant success on Prime Video, becoming the platform’s second most-watched new Original series outside the US. The series is known for its expansive storytelling, showcasing the operations of the spy agency Citadel and its powerful adversary, Manticore. Each instalment in the Citadel universe is crafted to reflect the cultural identities of its respective country, ensuring that local talent is at the forefront.
