:Actor Sunny Deol, known for his iconic roles and blockbuster hits, including the phenomenal success of 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,' has found himself embroiled in controversy. Recently, accusations of deceit and financial impropriety surfaced against him. Reportedly, Sorav Gupta, a real estate developer turned film producer and owner of Sundawn Entertainment Pvt Ltd, has levied startling allegations against Sunny. He alleges that the actor, whom he met in May 2016 with the initial draft of their collaborative film project, agreed to star in the film for a sum of Rs 4 crore. However, Gupta asserts that Deol's involvement in the project took a dark turn, alleging instances of cheating, extortion, and forgery involving a significant sum of Rs 2.55 crore.

Sorav Gupta, revealed that after paying an initial advance of Rs 1 crore to Deol, another Rs 1 crore was disbursed in October. Despite these payments, Deol failed to commence shooting for the project and instead diverted his efforts towards filming Poster Boyz. "We paid him Rs 1 crore in advance. Then in October, he asked for another crore and we made that payment as well," the producer told Zoom.

The situation escalated over the years, with Sunny allegedly requesting changes to the film's direction and script as late as 2022. By 2023, he proposed a new project titled "Ram Janmabhoomi," indicating that the script was complete, a director was secured, and the total budget amounted to Rs 40 crore. "In 2023, he only suggested a subject to us. The name of the film was Ram Janmabhoomi. We were told that the script is ready, there is a director onboard and that we just need to execute it. The total budget of the movie was estimated to be around Rs 40 crore, which would be divided 50-50 between us and another partner."

He further alleged, "We booked the Filmistan studio, paid the director and other people. In the next meeting, Sunny Deol assured us that the film will be made. But then, he says that his fee has now gone up. So we reached an agreement that Sunny Deol will get Rs 2 crore extra from the profit. Then he requested us to give him Rs 50 lakh more, saying that his son’s wedding (Karan Deol) was coming up. He told us that he would fetch big returns for the project from the satellite and digital sales. So we paid him Rs 50 lakh."

In a shocking turn of events, Sorav Gupta found himself confronted with a hard copy of an agreement that outlined revised terms allegedly proposed by Sunny Deol. According to this document, Sunny purportedly increased his fee to Rs 8 crore, with an additional Rs 2 crore to be garnered from the project's profits. Moreover, the agreement stipulated an extra Rs 1 crore payment, a deviation from their initial understanding.

Disturbed by these unexpected clauses, Gupta attempted to reach out to the actor directly and through his team to address the discrepancies but received no response. Over the years, Gupta asserted that they had invested up to Rs 25 crore, directly and indirectly, into the project, including the substantial sum of Rs 2.55 crore paid to Deol.

Sorav Gupta filed police complaint

Gupta has filed a police complaint against the actor. "The police issued (Sunny Deol) a notice on April 30. His office sent a letter saying he was out of town on the day he was to present himself."
