Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna has come under fire on social media after a video surfaced online showing him pushing away actor Anjali at an event for the film 'Gangs of Godavari.' Actor Nakuul Mehta has also criticised Balakrishna’s actions, calling them ridiculous. Now, the actress has spoken out about the incident. On Friday, Anjali took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a video from the event, addressing the situation publicly.
Dropping a video with him, Anjali tweeted, "I want to thank Balakrishna Garu for gracing the Gangs of Godavari pre-release event with his presence. I would like to express that Balakrishna garu and I have always maintained mutual respect for each other and we share a great friendship from a long time. It was wonderful to share the stage with him again." In the clip, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Anjali are seen conversing, high-fiving, and sharing laughs. The moment when Balakrishna pushed Anjali is also part of the video. After the push, the actress can be seen giving a high-five and laughing.

After the video emerged on social media platforms, several celebrities criticised Nandamuri Balakrishna. Reposting the video of the incident, Nakuul expressed his shock. He wrote, "Not one person expressed their discomfort. Not one. Ridiculous behaviour by the gent."
Singer Chinmayi Sripaada tweeted, "One of the biggest problems that I notice from people sharing this 'Look at her laughing. She should have _____' 1. It is NOT possible to respond according to your spectator response as you watch this on your device. This most moral policing, holier than thou - pure as driven snow - Harishchandra /Sri Ramachandramoorthy or their relative incarnates will fail to understand."
"2. Society itself refuses to hold men in power who misbehave responsible; Especially when they come from money, caste and political power. Don't come and tell women what to say and how to behave when you have everything to gain and nothing to lose," she added.

Balakrishna pushes away Anjali
Nandamuri Balakrishna was on stage as a special guest at a promotional event for Krishna Chaitanya's upcoming Telugu film Gangs of Godavari. Upon reaching the center of the stage, he requested the film's actors, Neha Shetty and Anjali to move aside. Shortly after, he forcefully pushed Anjali, nearly causing her to stumble and fall.
