Project Hail Mary, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and starring Ryan Gosling, will no longer release in India on March 20 alongside the US debut. The film’s India release has been pushed to March 26 to avoid a box-office clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar. Sony Pictures India and IMAX India confirmed the new date, adding that the film will release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir, author of The Martian, Project Hail Mary follows Ryland Grace, played by Ryan Gosling, a school teacher who wakes up from a coma aboard a spacecraft and encounters an alien during his mission. The film also stars Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung and Milana Vayntrub. Early reactions have been positive, with Guillermo del Toro praising the film as “emotional and beautiful” with strong performances and impressive direction.

Sony and IMAX announced, "An update from Earth… before we head to space! We want this journey to be truly out of this world. #ProjectHailMary will be in IMAX and cinemas on March 26, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu." A fan reacted, "THANK GOD it's not April 3," while another called it the "Best date."

About Dhurandhar 2: Dhurandhar: The Revenge is an upcoming Hindi spy action thriller written and directed by Aditya Dhar, and the direct sequel to Dhurandhar (2025). The film follows an undercover Indian agent infiltrating Karachi’s criminal and political networks while avenging the 26/11 attacks.

Recently, actress Yami Gautam, who will reportedly make a special appearance in the movie, shared the first review of the spy action thriller. At the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026, Yami Gautam shared, "I always had that belief. I had said it earlier also that Dhurandhar will be a film that will make every Indian proud. I was shooting for Article 370 when I first read the script of Dhurandhar. It was just 40 pages but my eyes watered. I was not able to say anything and my reaction was enough to tell Aditya how I really felt. I know how hard he worked to make this film – with honesty and belief."
