The film received widespread critical acclaim, with reviewers praising its various aspects. At the box office, Pushpa 2 has been rewriting records, emerging as a monumental commercial success. 

As of now, the film has grossed an impressive ₹1,830 crore (US$210 million), thereby securing several notable distinctions. It has become the highest-grossing film in India, the highest-grossing Indian film of the year, and the highest-grossing Telugu film. Furthermore, Pushpa 2: The Rule has also earned the title of the 2nd highest-grossing Indian film worldwide, solidifying its position as a cinematic phenomenon.

Pushpa 2 was announced in December 2021, with 10% of its footage shot alongside the original film. However, the story was altered, and principal photography began in October 2022. The film features music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Mirosław Kuba Brożek, and editing by Naveen Nooli. Made on a massive budget of ₹400-500 crore, it's one of India's most expensive films, with a runtime of 200-224 minutes, making it one of the longest Indian films ever made.
