Pushpa 2: The much-anticipated premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule turned tragic in Hyderabad as an overwhelming crowd of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite star, Allu Arjun. The incident occurred at Sandhya Theatre, RTC Crossroads, on Wednesday night, leading to a stampede that claimed the life of a woman and left her child critically injured.
As per a Matrubhumi report, the victim, identified as 39-year-old Revathi from Dilsukhnagar, had come to attend the screening with her husband and two children. According to reports, chaos erupted around 10:30 PM when Allu Arjun made a surprise appearance at the theatre. His presence caused the crowd to surge, leading to a stampede-like situation as police struggled to manage the throng.
Videos circulating on social media platforms showed heart-wrenching scenes of a man desperately trying to revive an unconscious child with CPR. Revathi was rushed to a nearby hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries. The child remains in critical condition. Reports also indicate that the theatre’s main gate collapsed in the commotion, adding to the chaos.
Hyderabad police have registered a criminal case against Sandhya Theater and its management following a stampede outside the theatre that resulted in the death of a woman named Revathi during the special premiere of the Allu Arjun film, Pushpa 2, on Wednesday night. The police also announced that the theatre will be sealed as part of the investigation process.As per The Times Of India report, a senior police official stated that there was negligence in implementing proper crowd control measures.

Allu Arjun, surrounded by heavy security, made a brief appearance from his car’s sunroof, waving to fans and urging them to clear the way for vehicles to move. Despite his efforts, the massive crowd proved difficult to control. Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, features Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil reprising their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, respectively. The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise has already garnered immense attention, with fans eagerly awaiting its release.
