Queen 2: The highly anticipated sequel to Kangana Ranaut's iconic 2014 movie, is gearing up for production as director Vikas Bahl confirms that the script is finally locked and ready, as per a News18 report. The original film, which was released almost a decade ago, has since garnered a cult following for its empowering storyline and memorable performances.
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Vikas Bahl shared his excitement about the film's milestone anniversary, stating, "It is going to be ten years of Queen’s release but the number of people who keep asking me about Queen 2 makes me feel like the film released just yesterday! However, I am happy to say that we have actually finished writing our story. So, yes, the sequel should happen."
The director also acknowledged the pressure of living up to the original film's success, stating, "If I didn’t feel the pressure of matching up to the expectations that people have from the sequel, I would have already made it four years back just for money." He emphasized the importance of not rushing the sequel and settling for a mediocre script, ensuring that the sequel delivers as much as Queen did.
In addition to Queen 2, Vikas Bahl is also celebrating the upcoming release of his horror film 'Shaitaan' starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala on March 8, just a day after Queen completes ten years. He is also awaiting the release of the second season of his web show, 'Sunflower', scheduled to drop on Zee5 on March 1. The movie is available for streaming on Netflix.
