R Madhavan, known for his charming persona and timeless appeal, has always had a massive female fan following. However, his wife, Sarita, has her own way of dealing with it. In a recent chat with Filmfare Middle East, the Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein actor opened up about how Sarita reacts to the admiration he receives from women.
Madhavan and Sarita have been together for decades, having dated for eight years before tying the knot in 1999. By the time he made his Bollywood debut in 2001 with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, he was already married. He acknowledged that Sarita has always seen him in the limelight and has adapted to the attention he gets. However, he admitted that at times, she finds it overwhelming.
“She must have felt uneasy at some point. I became a proper film actor after getting married. By the time Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein released, I was already married. So, she grew up seeing me receive this adulation," Madhavan said.

Despite this, he emphasized that Sarita understands what it’s like to be a fan. "She is a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan. Her knees start knocking, and she melts when she sees him. So, she understands what girls go through when they see an idol of theirs. Hence, she’s been very accommodating," he added.
However, Madhavan noted that Sarita sometimes feels he should tone things down. "Sometimes, I can feel her thinking, ‘Isn’t this becoming a bit too much?’ Now, she has also begun telling me to stop posting all these photos on Instagram and to start behaving my age. But I don’t think she’s jealous. I think she’s right too and wants me to behave in an age-appropriate manner."
On the professional front, R Madhavan is set to star in G.D.N., a biopic on the renowned scientist G D Naidu, directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar. The film, which recently began its India schedule, also stars Priyamani, Jayaram and Yogi Babu, with music composed by Govind Vasantha.

Madhavan shared the announcement on Instagram, writing, “Need all your blessings and good wishes.” The film will be shot entirely in Coimbatore, the birthplace of G D Naidu, to maintain authenticity. The scientist, often referred to as the Edison of India, made groundbreaking contributions to technology and innovation in India.
