R. Madhavan, known for his versatile performances and charming on-screen presence, recently opened up about the foundation of his 25-year-long marriage to Sarita Birje. The couple tied the knot in 1999 and have been an inspiring example of a strong and enduring relationship in the entertainment industry.

During a candid conversation on the YouTube channel For A Change, Madhavan reflected on how he navigated early insecurities in his marriage. Sarita, a former air hostess, initially felt uneasy as Madhavan’s acting career took off, earning him a reputation as a “chocolate boy” adored by fans. Acknowledging her feelings, Madhavan took steps to build trust and financial stability, ensuring a solid partnership.

He revealed that his parents’ approach to marriage served as a guiding principle. "My parents always said, 'We decided to spend our lives together, so why assume things will go wrong? Instead, assume they’ll go right.' They had a joint account for everything, and I thought that made a lot of sense," Madhavan shared.

Adopting this idea, Madhavan suggested that he and Sarita maintain a joint bank account to eliminate financial insecurities. "If Sarita is going to feel insecure every time she looks at her bank account, it’s better that we view it together as a joint account. This way, it belongs to both of us, and she knows she’s an equal signatory," he explained.Madhavan emphasized the importance of trust in marriage, adding, "I’m going to assume this marriage will work. I trust her, and I hope she trusts me."
