Renowned Indian actor R Madhavan has extended his support to the film fraternity’s decision to temporarily cancel film-related events such as launching events, teaser and trailers, after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. According to reports, the decision was made to showcase solidarity with the victims, who lost their lives in the heinous terror attack. Madhavan re-shared a post of paparazzi Yogen Shah on his Instagram stories, which read the Industry’s decision about the film-related events. The post read, “In light of the current situation, movie teasers, trailers, and launch events have been canceled. Additionally, a major award ceremony has been canceled, along with several brand launches. Like all other industries, our film industry also shares in the sorrow, grief, and solidarity during this difficult time.”

Earlier in a post, R Madhavan shared his anger about the terror attack on his Instagram account. He wrote, “Horrified, Dismayed, Aghast, Deep shock and sadness Heartbreaking #Pahalgamattack. Anger, Wrath, Revenge and retribution, Payback!! Decimate, Annihilate, Set an example, Coward Perpetuators.” 

In the afternoon of April 22, several tourists were enjoying their time in the Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, when four to six militants entered the are and started firing. The incident took place around 14:50 pm on Tuesday. According to reports, 27 people are dead while several others are injured. After the attack, the political scenario of India and Pakistan is quite intense, leading to strict decisions being made against the country. Several celebrities, from Shah Rukh Khan to Alia Bhatt condemned the attack and shared their condolences to the victims and their families.

Coming back to the work front of R Madhavan, the actor is currently seen in Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. The movie also features Ananya Panday, Akshay Kumar, Regina Cassandra, Steven Hartley and Sammy Jonas Heaney in key roles. The film has recently crossed the Rs 40 crore mark in India.
