Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video director Raaj Shaandilyaa has issued a public apology after a scene in his latest film stirred controversy. The scene in question features a reference to Stree, the popular ghost character from the Maddock Horror Universe, which was used without permission from Maddock Films. He stated, "On behalf of myself and the producers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, we extend our sincere and unconditional apology for the unauthorized use of character and dialogue from Stree. We deeply regret any harm caused to Maddock Films and their franchise due to this infringement."

Shaandilyaa also promised that steps are being taken to rectify the issue, assuring that all references to Stree will be removed from the film by October 15, 2024. He emphasized that the team is committed to ensuring no such unauthorized usage occurs in the future. "We make no claim to any intellectual property rights in Stree, Stree 2, or any related characters," he added.
