The Race film series is a celebrated Bollywood franchise known for its electrifying action and intricate plots. The original film, Race (2008), directed by Abbas-Mustan, explores a high-stakes world of horse racing, family betrayals, and intense rivalries, featuring performances by Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, and Bipasha Basu. The sequel, Race 2 (2013), also directed by Abbas-Mustan, raises the stakes with high-stakes gambling and elaborate heists, and stars Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Jacqueline Fernandez. The third installment, Race 3 (2018), directed by Remo D'Souza, shifts the focus to high-octane action and family drama, with Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Bobby Deol taking the lead.

While the initial films garnered widespread acclaim for their stylish execution and dramatic twists, the third film fell short of expectations. Now, if reports are to be believed, producer Ramesh Taurani is preparing to revive the Race series, with Saif Ali Khan set to return for Race 4.

According to Pinkvilla, "Saif Ali Khan has been discussing Race 4 with Ramesh Taurani for a while now and the duo has finally come to the agreement of rebooting the franchise with Race 4. The actor has agreed in principle and is excited to get into the world of Race again. Ramesh Taurani is aiming to take the film on floors in the first quarter of 2025."

Although the core plot of Race 4 has been finalised, the screenplay is still undergoing refinement. Alongside Saif Ali Khan, the film will boast a star-studded cast, with discussions underway with renowned filmmakers to infuse the reboot with a fresh and dynamic vision. "While the basic plot of Race 4 is locked, the team is presently working on the screenplay. Apart from Saif Ali Khan, a big ensemble will come on board and the casting is also underway. The makers are also looking to reboot it by getting in a fresh and credible voice to direct the film," the report added.

About Race 3

Race 3, released in 2018, is known for its high-octane action and intricate plot twists. Directed by Remo D'Souza, this film shifts the focus from the previous installments' horse racing and gambling to intense action sequences and family drama. The story revolves around a wealthy family embroiled in a web of deceit, revenge, and power struggles. Salman Khan stars as the lead character, Sikander, alongside a notable ensemble cast that includes Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, and Daisy Shah. The film's plot features elaborate heists and dramatic confrontations, expanding on the franchise’s signature style of glamorous action and suspense.

Despite its star-studded cast and high production values, Race 3 received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. While it was praised for its visual appeal and action sequences, it was criticised for its convoluted plot and lack of coherence compared to its predecessors.
