Raid 2: The trailer of Ajay Devgn starrer has been released recently. In the gripping trailer, it can be seen that Vaani Kapoor has replaced Ileana D'Cruz's part, as she plays the role of Ajay Devgn’s wife in the sequel. At the trailer launch event, Ajay talked about the casting change. Whereas, Vaani Kapoor dismissed the rumours of rivalry with Ileana. Both the stars explained their stance on the casting change in Raid 2. Here is what they said. 

When Ajay was asked about his character’s new wife in the sequel, the actor said “You see it in a lot of Hollywood films as well. Still, Sean Connery is not the only James Bond. It’s the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in.” 

On the other hand, Vaani also clarified if she has any pressure or rivalry with the previous actress Ileana D'Cruz. The Raid 2 actress said, “No jealousy with the previous one. We share a great equation off-screen. You just try to play your part in the most authentic manner and follow the brief of the director and writer. This film showcases a different side of me. It felt new and refreshing.”  


Raid 2 focuses on Indian Revenue Service Officer Amay Patnaik (portrayed by Ajay Devgn), who will uncover the corruption of a powerful political leader Dada Bhai (played by Riteish Deshmukh). The movie stars Ajay Devgn as Amay Patnaik, Riteish Deshmukh as Dada Bhai, Vaani Kapoor as Amay’s wife, Saurabh Shukla as Rameshwar Singh. The film also stars Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak and Amit Sial in pivotal roles. The movie has been written by Ritesh Shah and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Raid 2 has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. The much awaited movie Raid 2 released in theatres on May 1, 2025.
