About Pahalgam Terror Attack: On April 22, 2025, five armed militants near Pahalgam in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, killed 26 civilians, mostly Hindu males. The incident took place at the Baisaran valley, considered as one of the main tourist spots in J&K. The attack has now intensified tension between India and Pakistan.
Post the attack, India accused Pakistan of supporting cross-border terrorism. India has now suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, expelled Pakistani diplomats and closed its borders. In response, Pakistan denied the accusations and suspended the Simla Agreement, restricting trade and closing its airspace. The situation further deteriorated with border skirmishes breaking out between Indian and Pakistani forces along the Line of Control on April 24, 2025.
