August 10 would have been more interesting if Rajinikanth’s 'Jailer' and Malayalam film Jailer clashed at the Box Office, but this battle has been canceled. According to a recent update, the Sakkir Madathil-directorial will arrive in theatres on August 18, while Rajinikanth’s film will hit the theatres on August 10, 2023.
Film critic Manobala Vijayan took to his X handle and announced the same.

Why did Sakkir Madathil’s Jailer Postpone?
The Malayalam film Jailer will not be released on August 10. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Sakkir Madathil had recently protested against Rajinikanth’s Jailer, which will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The filmmaker claimed that the Kerala exhibitors are not providing screens to his film.
The director contended that he had officially registered the title ‘Jailer’ in 2021, even preceding the announcement of the Tamil film. Sakkir argued that releasing the film with the title ‘Jailer’ would be unjust due to the inclusion of one of the most prominent Malayalam stars, Mohanlal, in the Tamil version. Despite his plea, his request was declined, prompting the director to escalate the matter to the court.
