RajKummar Rao is on a roll. After the massive success of Stree 2 at the box office, the actor is gearing up for the romantic comedy movie Bhool Chuk Maaf, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi. Now, he is set to portray former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in an upcoming biopic. Ganguly himself confirmed this exciting news. The biopic, which has been a topic of discussion for some time, has raised the excitement to another level. However, the official announcement regarding the film and its cast has not yet been made.

RajKummar Rao in Sourav Ganguly's Biopic

Talking about his much-discussed biopic, Sourav Ganguly, during a media interaction in Bardhaman, said, "From what I've heard, Rajkummar Rao will play the role (the titular role)...but there are issues of dates...so it will take more than a year to hit the screens."

The former Indian skipper has played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs for India, scoring 18,433 runs with 38 centuries in international cricket. Post-retirement, Ganguly became the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) in 2015 and then the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in October from 2019-22. As a bold, audacious captain, he led team India to the final of 2003 World Cup and 21 Test wins.

Meanwhile, RajKummar Rao will be seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf, directed by Karan Sharma and presented by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios. The makers recently unveiled the teaser of the film.

Apart from this, he will also be seen in Maalik, which is slated for release on June 20, 2025. RajKummar Rao also has the movie Toaster in the pipeline, directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary and produced by his wife and actress Patralekhaa. Besides him, the movie also stars Sanya Malhotra, Archana Puran Singh, Upendra Limaye, Farah Khan, Abhishek Banerjee and Seema Pahwa.
