Rakul Preet Singh attended the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2024 awards in Abu Dhabi. The actress was interacting with the media very warmly on the green carpet but suddenly her mood switched after a reporter asked about her father-in-law Vashu Bhagnani. She was seen talking about television, OTT platform and also about her upcoming movie with Ajay Devgn De De Pyaar De 2. The actress graciously answered all of the questions but when asked about Vashu Bhagnani, she just walked away by saying ‘Sorry’. 

In the viral clip, a reporter asked how the shooting of De De Pyaar De 2 was going on. She replied, “Very good” with a wide smile. When another reporter asked, “There are a lot of reports in the media about Vashu sir, and a lot of people have said that…”. Rakul stopped smiling and said sorry after which she walked away. 

Vashu Bhagnani has been facing allegations this production house Pooja Entertainment has not paid due to crew members working in movies like Mission Raniganj, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Earlier, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president BN Tiwari stated that the filmmaker has to pay Rs 65 lakhs to the crew members of these films. 

He also recently talked about the complaints he has been receiving against the filmmaker. He said as quoted by ANI, “We first received a complaint from Tinu Desai. He had a pending balance of about ₹33 lakhs for Mission Raniganj. Later, Vashu Bhagnani asked for some time, saying the payment would be made within a month. Part of the payment for our elite labour union was made after a month, but Tinu Desai's payment is still pending.” 

On the work front, Rakul Preet Singh’s De De Pyaar De 2 also stars Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Arjun Panchal in key roles. The movie is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2025.
