The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial 'Animal', featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, is enjoying a phenomenal run at the box office. The film is unstoppable not only on domestically but at the global level too. While it garnered mixed reviews and faced criticism for allegedly glorifying violence against women and perpetuating toxic masculinity, director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) once again came out in support of the film and its collection at the ticket windows.
RGV shared 'five takeaways for the people of India from Animal'. In his first point, he highlighted the evolution in the Indian mindset, suggesting a departure from past beliefs. His second takeaway criticised the film's impact, suggesting that if movies are considered an art form representing culture, Ranbir Kapoor starrer has altered culture's definition and undermined the traditional concept of art. Also, he commented on film's box office triumph, noting its rapid ascent to grossing over Rs 650 crore worldwide in just nine days. He expressed a unique perspective, suggesting that the film's success demonstrates the hidden animalistic traits within everyone.
In his tweet, the filmmaker wrote, "5 TAKE AWAYS for the PEOPLE of INDIA from ANIMAL film-- 1.Indians are not the same Indians , what the earlier Indians used to think
2. If films are believed to be an art form and reflect culture , ANIMAL has redefined culture and destroyed what was earlier called art
3.Every Indian is now exposed to each other indian in terms of what kind of ANIMALS are hidden in all of us
4.The MEGA BOX OFFICE proves that ALL INDIANS now love and respect a not to be loved and respected director
5.All INDIANS now realise that ALL INDIANS have GROWN UP."
