Animal OTT Release: In a dramatic legal development, Cine1 Studios has filed a suit against T-Series, one of the co-producers of the film Animal, seeking to restrain its release on any streaming or satellite platform. The Delhi High Court has issued a summon on this matter, with the court date set for March 15, 2024.

The dispute centres around an acquisition agreement between Cine1 Studios and Super Cassettes Industries Pvt Ltd, where the plaintiff alleges consistent breaches of contractual rights. The suit claims that Super Cassettes released the film without approval, failed to disclose production costs, and did not consult on promotional materials.

As per ANI, Senior Advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Cine1 Studios, argued that Super Cassettes breached the agreement and incurred expenses without the plaintiff's consent. On the other hand, Amit Sibal, representing T-Series, stated that an amendment in August 2022 involved Cine1 allegedly giving up intellectual property rights for ₹2.6 crores.

The court has directed both parties to file written statements and affidavits of admission/denial by January 20, with further submissions scheduled for January 22, 2024. The plaintiff's counsel assures the court that their client will attend the hearing. As the legal battle unfolds, the plaintiff seeks to prevent the film's release on digital or satellite platforms until contractual breaches are remedied. The defendant's conduct has prompted this move to assert contractual rights in the Delhi High Court.

Whatever comes out of this legal battle, it seems that fans have to wait more for the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal on OTT platforms. As per reports, the film was scheduled to have its OTT release on January 26, 2024.
