Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, gave fans their first look at the role in Los Angeles on Monday. The actor discussed the importance of Lord Ram and his legacy as Maryada Puroshattam while speaking to the crowd and media. A similar peek will be revealed in India on April 2 on the occassion of Hanuman Jayanti. Ranbir Kapoor referred to Lord Ram as the 'conscience keeper of billions' while speaking about his part in the Ramayana before the April 2 teaser release. 

Ranbir Kapoor discussed the mythological character's lasting influence during the occasion, noting that Lord Rama is adored as Maryada Purushottam, the perfect man, and stands for kindness, bravery, righteousness, and forgiveness. He added that the principles connected to Rama are timeless and continue to direct people for generations.

"Lord Ram has been the conscience keeper of billions of people around the globe for centuries and long after. He will continue being so long after we have gone. He enlightens us about the triumph of the human spirit in terms of adversities. He stands for compassion, for courage, for righteousness and forgiveness. He is called Maryada Purushottam, which stands for an ideal man."

The two-part epic Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with eight-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, is scheduled for a global IMAX release, with Part 1 arriving in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

Ramayana is positioned to be a once-in-a-generation worldwide spectacle, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as the strong Ravana, Sunny Deol as the powerful Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
