Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari has embarked on an ambitious journey with his upcoming film, Ramayana, which is already making headlines. The movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Yash as Ravana. However, what's grabbing even more attention is the musical collaboration behind the scenes.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, the makers of Ramayana have roped in two musical maestros, Oscar-winners Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, to create the film's score. This marks Hans Zimmer's debut in the Indian film industry, and he is teaming up with the legendary AR Rahman to bring this epic tale to life on the big screen.

Hans Zimmer is renowned for his exceptional work in Hollywood, having composed music for iconic films like The Lion King, Man of Steel, Interstellar, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Inception, among others. His collaboration with AR Rahman, who is known for his soul-stirring compositions in films like Slumdog Millionaire and Lagaan, is expected to elevate the musical experience of Ramayana to new heights.
The report revealed, “Hans Zimmer is gearing up to make his debut in the Indian film industry with Ramayana. Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari have always been vocal about their global vision for this Indian epic, and they are leaving no stone unturned to make that a reality. Hans Zimmer is also fascinated by the vision for the story of Lord Ram and is all ready to compose the score of Ramayana."
The music of Ramayana being composed by AR Rahman adds another layer of excitement to this collaboration. The source further stated, “It’s a match made in heaven. Two global talents are set to team up to present India’s story to the world."

Ramayana is the first part of a trilogy and is currently in production. It is being touted as the most expensive film in Indian cinema. Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Yash are expected to shoot for their respective parts soon. The film is slated for a Diwali 2025 release.
In addition to the main cast, the film will also feature Sheeba Chaddha and Lara Dutta. Lara Dutta will essay the role of Lord Ram’s stepmother Kaikeyi, while Sheeba Chaddha will portray Manthara, the character who convinced Kaikeyi to exile Lord Ram from the kingdom.
