Randeep Hooda recently talked about the boycott culture in the industry. According to Hooda, gaining popularity is undoubtedly beneficial for actors, as it can open doors to new opportunities and increase their visibility in the industry. However, he emphasised that the pursuit of popularity should not be solely focused on creating sensationalism or shock value, but rather should be balanced with authenticity and meaningful engagement.

Randeep Hooda talks about Boycott culture

In a conversation with India Today, Randeep said, “I think any popularity is good popularity. The problem arises when nobody is talking about you. But that should not also be a case of just creating sensationalism. Boycott culture is a social media hoax. If you see a boycott for a film on social media, that doesn't necessarily mean people are not going to watch it.”

“If people are not watching it, it is because they didn't like the trailer. People watch a film because they like the trailer or actor in it. It has nothing to do with this boycott culture. I don't care about it at all. I have been cancelled many times. I am here bro,” he further added.

Randeep Hooda was last seen in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. Hooda's latest project saw him stepping into the shoes of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a legendary Indian freedom fighter, in a sweeping epic drama that he also directed and co-produced. Joined by a talented cast, including Ankita Lokhande, Amit Sial, Mrinal Dutt, Rajesh Kera, and Lokesh Mittal, who all deliver memorable performances, the film promises to be a cinematic masterpiece.

The film witnessed a successful opening week in India, garnering a nett collection of ₹11.37 crore. Building on this momentum, it earned an additional ₹6.34 nett crore in its second week. As of April 14, 2024, the movie has achieved a remarkable worldwide gross of ₹31.23 crore, not only recovering its production costs but also yielding substantial profits.
