Ranveer Allahbadia’s derogatory remarks on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent show have sparked controversy across the nation. Celebrities and netizens are trolling him for his comments. Amid the backlash, an old video of actor Varun Dhawan has resurfaced, where he discusses his decision to avoid appearing on Samay Raina’s show. Despite thriving in such an environment, he admitted worrying about the potential backlash that comes with its unfiltered humour.
In the viral clip, Ranveer Allahbadia asked Varun about Samay Raina’s approach to comedy and his growing popularity during his podcast. Varun responded, “He asked me to be on the show, and honestly, I’d love to go on it. I thrive in that kind of environment. I’m not scared of being canceled, but my concern is that it could affect his show negatively. The more attention you get with that type of humor, sometimes it leads to a crossfire.”
Ranveer urged him to reconsider and join the show. To this, Varun added, “I would do it in a heartbeat. I’m not worried for myself, but I think the teams I work with might have concerns. I’d have to do it when I’m not promoting something because it will definitely lead to a crossfire.”
This video is now circulating amid the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent. Ranveer Allahbadia, along with content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Mukhija, appeared on the show. During his appearance, Ranveer made an inappropriate comment about "sex with parents," which triggered massive backlash on social media. Outraged netizens started trolling him and re-sharing his old videos. In addition to the backlash, an FIR was filed against both Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, the show’s host.
About Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy
The latest episode of India’s Got Latent stirred controversy after Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” His question immediately sparked outrage among netizens, who criticized him and the other panelists.
Following the backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apology. In a video, he stated, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry. My comment was inappropriate—it wasn’t even funny. Comedy isn’t my forte. Many of you asked if this is how I want to use my platform, and obviously, it’s not. I won’t offer any context or justification. I’m just here to apologize.”
