Ranveer Singh recently took to social media to highlight the growing concern over deepfake videos, urging vigilance among his followers. This call to action comes in the wake of a deepfake video featuring Singh himself, where he was falsely portrayed criticizing the government. Such videos, created using artificial intelligence, can be extremely deceptive, raising serious ethical and legal issues.
Singh's warning is particularly relevant in light of recent incidents involving other Bollywood celebrities. Aamir Khan, for instance, was the target of a deepfake video promoting a political party. Mumbai police took swift action, filing an FIR against the unknown perpetrators. Khan's spokesperson clarified that the video was entirely fabricated, emphasizing Khan's non-partisan stance throughout his career.
Another victim of deepfake videos is Rashmika Mandanna, who faced a similar situation last year. A video featuring a woman with Mandanna's face in a compromising position circulated online, prompting demands for legal action. These incidents highlight the dangers posed by deepfake technology, not only to celebrities but also to the integrity of digital content.

The proliferation of deepfake videos is a cause for concern, as they have the potential to mislead the public and damage reputations. Social media platforms and authorities need to take proactive measures to identify and remove such content. Additionally, public awareness about the existence of deepfakes and their potential impact is crucial.
Ranveer Singh's warning against deepfake videos serves as a timely reminder of the need for caution in an era where digital manipulation is becoming increasingly sophisticated. The incidents involving Aamir Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, and others underscore the importance of being vigilant and verifying the authenticity of content before sharing it online.
