Vijay Deverakonda is all set to return to the big screen with his movie 'Family Star' and is currently busy promoting the film. The movie revolves around Govardhan, who is a man from a middle-class family and wants to live a successful life but has to deal with ego and ego issues in relationships. The movie created excitement among the audience and it has now been reported that Rashmika Mandanna will have a cameo role in 'Family Star'.
According to a report by OTTplay, Rashmika will be seen in a small role in 'Family Star' and will appear in the US portion of the film. The rumours of Rashmika's cameo have not been confirmed by the actress or the makers yet.
The movie was recently criticised due to its song 'Kalyani Vaccha Vacchaa' for showing lavish visuals. Vijay has clapped back at trolls for criticising the song without watching the movie. He said at the event, "I don’t understand, are people genuinely confused or are they just looking to troll us? We have all grown up seeing lavish dream sequences in films. No one here is stupid enough to make a film where a hero asks the heroine to pay money for petrol but has a lavish wedding."
He added, "But even then, so what if he is middle class? Couldn’t he have done better for himself through the story? Let’s watch the film before jumping to conclusions.”
The movie is produced by Dil Raju under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. 'Family Star' will hit theatres on April 5. Mrunal Thakur will be seen as the leading lady in 'Family Star'.
On the work front, Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in 'Kushi' along with Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Rashmika was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial 'Animal' along with Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri. The movie became a massive hit at the box office. She will next star in 'Pushpa The Rule' along with Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil.
