The highly anticipated four-episode documentary series about the career of former professional basketball player J.R. Smith, titled Redefined: J.R. Smith, was made available for streaming on Prime Video on April 4.
IMDb reports that J.R. Smith is the lead actor in Redefined, alongside Richard Watkins, Diego Gonzalez, and a number of other actors. Despite his successful career as a professional basketball player in the NBA, Smith, unfortunately, found himself without a team to play for one day.
In a surprising move in 2021, he caused a stir by enrolling at North Carolina A&T State University and becoming a member of their Aggies golf team. Having skipped college and gone straight from high school to the NBA, the athlete had never experienced college life before.
Therefore, upon deciding to pursue a college degree and explore new opportunities in life, he enrolled at North Carolina A&T State University, because is the largest historically black university in the US.
Philip Knowlton directed the four-episode documentary series while LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron, Amy Glickman Brown, Erikka Yancy, and Philip Knowlton himself co-produced it.
About J.R. Smith
Smith was born on September 9, 1985, in Freehold Borough, New Jersey, and spent his childhood in the Clarksburg area of Millstone Township, New Jersey. He was chosen in the first round of the 2004 NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets as the 18th overall pick and entered the NBA straight out of high school at the age of 19.
Throughout his career, he has been a member of various teams, including the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, and even the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese Basketball Association. He achieved NBA championship victories twice, first with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and then with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
During the year 2021, Smith became a part of the Aggies golf team at North Carolina A&T State University. Subsequently, he signed with Complexity Gaming later that same year.
