Remo DSouza and his wife Lizelle DSouza have been accused of cheating a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. The recent controversy has created a buzz on social media. Now, breaking silence on the same the celebrity couple shared a joint statement on Instagram. Remo and Lizelle said that they were ‘disheartened by such news’ being published. They further urged people to refrain from spreading rumours without finding the true facts. The star couple further mentioned that they will continue to cooperate with the authorities for the alleged case. 

They wrote on Instagram, “It has come to our notice through media reports that some complaint has been registered alleging fraud in regards to a certain dance troupe. It's disheartening that such information has been published. We would like to request everyone to abstain from spreading rumours before ascertaining true facts.” 

“We shall put our case forward in due time and will continue to cooperate with the authorities in every way possible like we have done so far. We would like to thank our family, friends and fans for the outpouring of love and continuous support. Love always Lizelle & Remo,” they added.

About the case

A FIR was lodged against Remo DSouza and his wife Lizelle DSouza for claiming the prize money of Rs 11.96 crore after winning an award show by him and his dance troupe. They were allegedly cheated in 2018 and July 2024. The accused five others including Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman, and Ramesh Gupta.
